Two million Zoom2u deliveries later, welcome (back) to our blog.

Hi everyone, Steve here, Founder and CEO of Zoom2u. Things have been pretty busy around here for the past twelve months and you would be forgiven for forgetting that we do actually have a blog.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has dominated the headlines over the past year and a bit, we’ve ticked off some pretty major milestones with many more exciting developments on the way. Here are a few things that have been happening since you heard from us last.

Two million deliveries to nearly 70,000 customers

The eagle-eyed among you might remember that the last time I checked in here we had just passed one million deliveries. Well, two years on and I am proud to share that via our platform, we have now made more than two million deliveries to nearly 70,000 customers across Australia. While there are many factors that have contributed to achieving this phenomenal result, the three most important are:

Reliability & Transparency

A lack of reliability in the delivery industry was the reason I launched Zoom2u seven years ago. To this day, our innovative live tracking keeps both businesses and their customers in the loop, and is, I believe, one of the major reasons behind our continued growth.

Flexible delivery options

I read recently that something like 25% of people abandon their cart if same-day delivery isn’t available. That’s huge! This is one of the reasons we have been so quick to expand within the Aussie eCommerce market. When the delivery timeframe can mean the difference between making a sale and not, it pays to give your customers options. Customer satisfaction

It warms my heart to see our customer feedback on platforms like Product Review and know that we are achieving what we set out to do. If you’ve used our platform before, you’ll know that we actively seek feedback from customers every step of the way. For example, after a delivery is made, the recipient is prompted to give a ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ to show how it went. From here, we use more detailed feedback and recurring themes to directly improve the product, incorporating these changes into our app updates a couple of times each month.

Joined forces with Nespresso

For a caffeine addict like me, one of the most exciting developments in the past year has been the launch of our partnership with Nespresso. Now, customers shopping online or via the Nespresso app have the option for three-hour delivery using Zoom2u. Following an initial trial period, the partnership has been expanded nationwide, with our couriers collecting orders from all 19 Nespresso boutiques in Australia.

Here’s what Nespresso Oceania General Manager, Jean-Marc Dragoli had to say about the partnership:

“We are pleased with the early success of the service and there is clear demand from customers as shopping habits and expectations change. What’s been so impressive is how the team has worked with Zoom2u to quickly roll this out to our boutique stores nationwide, so customers can get their coffee when they want it.”

Introducing Locate2u and Shred2u

Pandemic be damned, 2020 saw us launch two new businesses — Locate2u and Shred2u. Leveraging our industry-leading technology platform, both businesses hold the same focus on reliability and customer experience as Zoom2u. Here’s what they’re all about:

Locate2u

Following on from the success of Zoom2u, Locate2u extends our tracking technology to allow other businesses to see the whereabouts of their own drivers and employees. Here are some of the key benefits:

Businesses and their customers can track drivers in real-time so they know exactly when to expect them.
The on-board technology gives businesses access to data like booking status, delivery speed, driving performance and more.
Route optimisation to save time and drive customer satisfaction.
We have only just recently launched the product and have already signed up 60 customers around the world. Including retailers, courier businesses and distribution businesses.

Shred2u

With Shred2u, we have taken what was once a time-intensive (and let’s face it — tedious) process and flipped it on its head. Depending on your needs, we will deliver a bag, bin or pallet for your confidential documents. And then pick it up when it’s full. Using our GPS technology, you’ll be able to pinpoint when your driver will arrive down to the minute.

So there you have it. You’re all caught up on the past twelve months at Zoom2u. While it’s been a whirlwind year with lots of ups and our fair share of lessons. One thing that has stood out to me more than ever is the power of innovation.
